Online you can say nasty things to stay safe if you are unsure about hate and cursing.
The word "fat" can only be used in so many ways, so I am sorry if it's something people are averse to inadvertently. I've learned both ways, that fat is a technical term as opposed to saying someone is a big person moderately tall or whatever.
I never tell someone they are fat, and some people probably wouldn't care.
